I’m John Losee, the proud founder of JML Mastercraft. Born and raised in Sussex, WI, my journey in woodworking began at a young age, fueled by passion, curiosity, and a drive to create something lasting. One of my earliest memories is being in my grandfather's basement, watching him make wooden toys from scratch. Even back then, I was drawn to woodworking as an outlet for creativity and self-expression. As I grew up, my father had his own passion for woodworking, and I always loved working with him to design and make projects from scratch. One of my favorite family stories is about my dad’s secret Vegas-style craps table hidden in his basement bar—a truly one-of-a-kind showpiece that always sparks conversation.

In college, my passion for technology led me to study electrical engineering. While I pursued a career in tech, woodworking remained my creative sanctuary—a space where I could balance logic with art. In contrast, woodworking has been my outlet away from the professional world where I get to be more creative and enjoy the hands on nature of the work.

Being self-taught, I’ve enjoyed exploring ways to integrate modern technology into my craft. When I finally acquired a CNC machine—a dream come true—it opened up new creative possibilities, blending precision engineering with artistic expression.

Family & Community:

I live in Sussex with my wonderful wife and our three amazing boys, who inspire me every day. Their constant support motivates me to refine my craft and expand my business. I envision JML Mastercraft not just as a company, but as a way to uplift and serve our local community.

Faith at the Core:

My Christian faith in Jesus Christ plays a central role in both my personal life and my business. I believe that every project is an opportunity to honor God by serving my customers with honesty, integrity, and excellence. Through my work, I strive to make a positive impact in my community, demonstrating love, care, and respect in everything I do.

In honoring God, I commit to donating 10% of all profits to Samaritan's Purse, supporting their mission to provide aid and hope to those in need.
